First time I listened to K-pop was back in 2008/2009(quite long time ago…), thanks to my love of jrock/visual kei groups I discovered the world of K-pop and never looked back. Super Junior (Korean: 슈퍼주니어; Syupeo Junieo), also known as simply SJ or SUJU, is a South Korean boy band. Formed in 2005 by producer Lee Soo-man of S.M. Entertainment, the group comprised a total of thirteen members at its peak. Super Junior originally debuted with twelve members, consisting of leader Leeteuk, Heechul, Hangeng, Yesung, Kangin, Shindong, Sungmin, Eunhyuk, Siwon, Donghae, Ryeowook and Kibum. Kyuhyun joined the group in 2006.

Girl’s Day (Hangul: 걸스데이) is a South Korean girl group formed by Dream Tea Entertainment in 2010. The group currently consists of four members: Sojin, Minah, Yura and Hyeri. Members Jisun and Jiin officially left the group in 2010, while Jihae left in late 2012.

Mamamoo (Hangul: 마마무), sometimes stylized as MAMAMOO,is a South Korean girl group formed by Rainbow Bridge World(formerly WA Entertainment) in 2014. The group officially debuted on June 18, 2014, with the song “Mr. Ambiguous”. Their debut was considered by some critics as one of the best K-pop debuts of 2014

Big Bang (Korean: 빅뱅) is a South Korean boy band formed by YG Entertainment. Consisting of members G-Dragon, T.O.P, Taeyang, Daesung, and Seungri, the group officially debuted on August 19, 2006. Despite initial lukewarm receptions, their breakthrough came with the extended play, Always (2007), which yielded the number one song “Lies” (Korean: 거짓말; Revised Romanization: Geojitmal). The song went on to top major Korean music charts for a record-breaking seven consecutive weeks,and won Song of the Year at the 9th Mnet Korean Music Festival
