First Ebook haul of 2019!

Photo by Alisa Anton on Unsplash

Hello, my darlings! How are you all doing? Is 2019 treating you well? February is coming, the month of love…So not to feel lonely(single girls problems) I got new books to read in February! Most of them are about love (obviously) , so let’s get into it!

AlwaysNever_BOM_4p.inddAlways Never Yours

Emily Wibberley

Shouldn’t a girl get to star in her own love story?

Seventeen-year-old Megan Harper is about due for her next sweeping romance. It’s inevitable—each of her relationships starts with the perfect guy and ends with him falling in love . . . with someone else. But instead of feeling sorry for herself, Megan focuses on pursuing her next fling, directing theater, and fulfilling her dream college’s acting requirement in the smallest role possible.

So when she’s cast as Juliet (yes, that Juliet) in her high school’s production, it’s a complete nightmare. Megan’s not an actress, and she’s used to being upstaged—both in and out of the theater. In fact, with her mom off in Texas and her dad remarried and on to baby #2 with his new wife, Megan worries that, just like her exes, her family is moving on without her.

Then she meets Owen Okita, an aspiring playwright inspired by Rosaline from Shakespeare’s R+J. A character who, like Megan, knows a thing or two about short-lived relationships. Megan agrees to help Owen with his play in exchange for help catching the eye of a sexy stagehand/potential new boyfriend. Yet Megan finds herself growing closer to Owen, and wonders if he could be the Romeo she never expected.

In their fresh and funny debut, Emily Wibberly and Austin Siegemund-Broka break down the high school drama to find there’s always room for familial love, romantic love, and—most importantly—self-love.

36439333Matchmaking for Beginners

by Maddie Dawson

Marnie MacGraw wants an ordinary life—a husband, kids, and a minivan in the suburbs. Now that she’s marrying the man of her dreams, she’s sure this is the life she’ll get. Then Marnie meets Blix Holliday, her fiancé’s irascible matchmaking great-aunt who’s dying, and everything changes—just as Blix told her it would.

When her marriage ends after two miserable weeks, Marnie is understandably shocked. She’s even more astonished to find that she’s inherited Blix’s Brooklyn brownstone along with all of Blix’s unfinished “projects”: the heartbroken, oddball friends and neighbors running from happiness. Marnie doesn’t believe she’s anything special, but Blix somehow knew she was the perfect person to follow in her matchmaker footsteps.

And Blix was also right about some things Marnie must learn the hard way: love is hard to recognize, and the ones who push love away often are the ones who need it most.

Not Cinderella’s Type(Modern Fairy Tales #1)

by Jenni James

Indy Zimmerman has a new stalker who won’t leave her alone, no matter what she says to him. Never mind the fact that he’s one of the most popular guys at school—she’s positive Bryant Bailey is only trying to appease his own conscience after pretty much destroying her life. But when Bryant doesn’t back down and insists on having some sort of bizarre friendship with her, his magic works, and her walls slowly start to crumble. He’s not her type. She’s never been into guys like Bryant, but then again, she’s never really known anyone quite as stubborn, or caring, or who can get her to confess stuff she wouldn’t even tell her best friend.

“This is a Cinderella retelling unlike any you’ve ever read. Get ready to laugh and cry along with Indy as she discovers who she is and what she’s worth.” – Tristi Pinkston, author of Take My Advice

Carrie Aarons

In a world of wealth and power, the rules of love and war are nothing as they seem.

Nora Randolph never wanted a life of luxury. But when her mother falls in love with the heir to the British throne, their small-town lives are uprooted and every little girl’s fantasy becomes her reality. All too quickly, she learns the dangers of running in circles with the world’s elite, especially when she attracts the attention of Winston Academy’s resident golden boy.

Asher Frederick has known nothing but favor and fortune. The son of London’s most influential family, his future has been written in stone since infancy. But a tragic childhood loss redirects his course, and revenge has been boiling in his blood for years. When innocent and unaware Nora lands in his path, it’s as if the universe hands him the ammunition to finally drag his enemy through the mud.

But as his plan for vengeance gets more twisted, so do his feelings for Nora. And as her immersion into the upper crust dives deeper, she struggles to keep the secret she’s been guarding for eighteen years.

Heavy lies the crown, and when the ultimate betrayal blindsides her, will either of them survive the consequences that come crashing down on their heads?

I’m trying bullet journaling for February

Hello, my darlings. How are you all doing? It’s finally sunny outside and it does put me in an amazing mood.

So I’m trying bullet journaling. I was hesitant to do anything like this because my art skills are not existing. But hey why not to try it for a month? So this February I will try to write all my plans only in my bullet journal.

What exactly is a bullet Journal?

A bullet journal is just a notebook that accommodates a huge variety of planning schemes. You can create calendars and to-do lists, and you can also use it as a diary, a brainstorming notepad, and more.

Supplies I used.
-Color pencils
-Colour markers
-Black gel pen
I got this notebook as a gift when I helped with translation in our parliament. And it was perfect for this kind of project.
KODAK Digital Still Camera
My theme for February was Hearts (valentine day, obviously). The first page of February is a calendar of the month. I decided to go for this hanging hearts design, I think it sets the mood for the month.
KODAK Digital Still Camera
I decided not to do a month at a glance, but do simple weekly spread.
KODAK Digital Still Camera
I really liked how black Gel pen looks in this kind of a project. I tried to do drop shadows, don’t know how I feel about them.
KODAK Digital Still Camera
Here I tried to do a different type of drop shadow,I like them more ..much more.
KODAK Digital Still Camera
Will see how I like this kind of planning, definitely will do an update of my bullet journal experience.
Tell me in the comments,Have you ever tried Bullet journaling?

L’Oreal Paris Multi-Masking Mini set

giphy (7)Hello, my darlings! Isn’t it a beautiful day today? Finally, the sun decided to show it’s face, the first time in weeks(and I’m very happy about it). So today I want to talk about face masks . I got L’Oreal Paris Multi-Masking Mini set as a Christmas gift from one of my coworkers. I was surprised by it because I got the same set for one of my friends. Here you have my thoughts, Let’s start!

Disclaimer - I have oily and acne prone skin.
About the product:

61EDuHIhFyL._SX355_Different areas of your face [forehead, T-Zone, cheeks] have different skincare needs. The L’Oréal Paris Pure Clay masks allow you to create a tailored detox regime with your own multi-tasking solution.

Apply 1, 2 or 3 masks at a time to address your skin needs and multi-mask your way to more beautiful skin day after day. The creamy textures work deep into the pores, leaving the skin looking purer, cleaner, brighter – without drying it out.

Contains 3x10ml Mini Pure Clay Face Masks:
3 Pure Clays + Eucalyptus, known for its purifying properties
3 Pure Clays + Red Algae, known for its brightening properties
Pure Clays + Charcoal, which acts like a magnet to draw out impurities

You can find this product here

My Thoughts :

3/5 stars

On the first glance, the packaging looks nice. But when you open the individual masks, you can’t close them back(and I hate it). If you are using them as they show you too, you don’t need the whole batch of the masks. So the packaging doesn’t make any sense in my mind.

KODAK Digital Still Camera

The Formula:

4/5 stars

I truly loved the black/detox mask. It did wonders to my skin. The green one was okay, not my favorite(Would be perfect if you have oily T-zone, but overall normal skin type). The red mask didn’t work for me at all, it’s more for a dry skin type.

KODAK Digital Still Camera

4/5 stars

It’s a good little set to try if you don’t know what kind of face mask you need. But I do think it’s overpriced. Overall I will buy in the future the black mask, it helped my very oily skin.

Tell me in the comments, Have you tried any face masks from this range?

What I read in the first weeks of 2019!

20190106_142911_500Hello, my darlings! How are you all doing? We are already two weeks in 2019 and I have read some books. And today I want to talk about them(because why not). This year I really want to be better with writing book reviews, so be ready to see more book related posts on here. Let’s start with the fun part…books!

40653061Wicked Wedding

(Left at the Altar #4)

Sawyer Bennett

It all started with a wedding…
Well, three weddings, to be exact. The one that happened, the one that went up in flames, and the one nobody saw coming.

Andrew Collings has seen a lot of things living in Vegas. Hell, he’s done a lot of things. But one thing he’s never witnessed is a beautiful brunette, hitchhiking her way into the city, wearing a wedding dress. Until now, that is.

Brynne Adams is running away from a broken heart. She expected a lot of things from her wedding day but finding photos of her fiancé and maid of honor and best man in a compromising position wasn’t one of them. She most certainly never imagined that she’d end up marrying the handsome stranger that rescued her from the side of the road that day.

Andrew and Brynne’s quick nuptials may have been the result of a drunken joke, but they soon realize that love can be found in the most unlikely of places if you just stop and take a chance.

My thoughts:

The first book I read in the 2019…and It was okay. Not

hing extra special in my mind.(or maybe I just wasn’t in the mood for this kind of book)I would recommend it for a fast afternoon read.

Inconvenient Wife

(Charleston #2)

Natasha Boyd

All Beau Montgomery, one of Charleston’s most eligible bachelors, wants to do is build boats. He has no interest in marriage whatsoever … until it means he might not get his inheritance and he can kiss his boat building dreams goodbye. But the hungry hordes of Charleston debutantes looking to score a Montgomery scare him sh*tless. Luckily, his best girlfriend Gwen has found him the perfect out. Marry a member of the armed services by proxy! He’ll never have to even meet the girl! Though her emails are starting to become highly addictive.

Gwen has loved Beau Montgomery since she used to run barefoot around the marina as scrappy preteen tomboy. Knowing she’ll never fit into his high society family, she decided long ago that she’d become his indispensable best friend rather than not be in his life at all. When he tells her he needs to marry in order to fulfill his dreams, she panics that he might actually meet someone and she’ll lose him forever. So she hatches the perfect plan. A marriage by proxy! But when her chosen target proves unreliable and impossible to pin down, Gwen writes Beau a few emails just to keep the connection going before the big day. I mean Beau is never going to even meet this woman in real life so what does does it matter if the words are hers …

My thoughts:

(Life After #1)

Julie Hall

No one’s afterlife is as dispiriting as Audrey’s―at least that’s what she believes after waking up dead without her memories and being promptly assigned to hunt demons for the rest of eternity. She’s convinced God’s made a cosmic mistake; after all, she’d rather discuss the color of her nails than break them on angelic weapons.

It doesn’t help that her trainer, Logan, is as infuriating as he is attractive. And just when Audrey and Logan appear close to developing an amicable relationship, a decision made under duress pushes their hearts in a direction neither of them saw coming.

Despite her sub-par fighting abilities, an ancient weapon of unparalleled power chooses Audrey as its wielder, attracting the cautious gazes of her fellow hunters and the attention of Satan himself. With Satan’s eyes now fixed on Audrey, a battle for the safety of the living looms in the shadows.

My thoughts:

This was amazing! I loved the writing and the story was amazing. Can’t wait to read the next book in this series
Disclaimer – It talks about school shooting if that triggers you better skip this one.

The Wicked King

(The Folk of the Air #2)

Holly Black

You must be strong enough to strike and strike and strike again without tiring.

The first lesson is to make yourself strong.

After the jaw-dropping revelation that Oak is the heir to Faerie, Jude must keep her younger brother safe. To do so, she has bound the wicked king, Cardan, to her, and made herself the power behind the throne. Navigating the constantly shifting political alliances of Faerie would be difficult enough if Cardan were easy to control. But he does everything in his power to humiliate and undermine her even as his fascination with her remains undiminished.

When it becomes all too clear that someone close to Jude means to betray her, threatening her own life and the lives of everyone she loves, Jude must uncover the traitor and fight her own complicated feelings for Cardan to maintain control as a mortal in a Faerie world.

My thoughts:

This was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! Everything I wanted. Can’t wait to read how the story will unfold.

That’s the new cover,I read this one with the old boring one.

Something Strange and Deadly

(Something Strange and Deadly #1)

Susan Dennard

There’s something strange and deadly loose in Philadelphia. . . .

Eleanor Fitt has a lot to worry about.

Her brother has gone missing, her family has fallen on hard times, and her mother is determined to marry her off to any rich young man who walks by. But this is nothing compared to what she’s just read in the newspaper:

The Dead are rising in Philadelphia.

And then, in a frightening attack, a zombie delivers a letter to Eleanor . . . from her brother.

Whoever is controlling the Dead army has taken her brother as well. If Eleanor is going to find him, she’ll have to venture into the lab of the notorious Spirit-Hunters, who protect the city from supernatural forces. But as Eleanor spends more time with the Spirit-Hunters, including the maddeningly stubborn yet handsome Daniel, the situation becomes dire. And now, not only is her reputation on the line, but her very life may hang in the balance.

My thoughts:

I enjoyed it. It was an okay book, figured out the plot twist basically in the first chapters. It has a lot of historical inaccuracies, but it’s fiction so I can let it slide. And the cover doesn’t match the book at all,I would love to see a cover change to a more epic one.
Another big thing…I’m not a fan of zombies, to be honest(Like I hate them with a passion), but they weren’t as bad in this one as I anticipated.Overall an interesting YA book, would totally recommend for an afternoon read.

The Kiss Thief

L.J. Shen

They say your first kiss should be earned.

Mine was stolen by a devil in a masquerade mask under the black Chicago sky.

They say the vows you take on your wedding day are sacred.

Mine were broken before we left church.

They say your heart only beats for one man.

Mine split and bled for two rivals who fought for it until the bitter end.

I was promised to Angelo Bandini, the heir to one of the most powerful families in the Chicago Outfit.

Then taken by Senator Wolfe Keaton, who held my father’s sins over his head to force me into marriage.

They say that all great love stories have a happy ending.

I, Francesca Rossi, found myself erasing and rewriting mine until the very last chapter.

One kiss.
Two men.
Three lives.
Entwined together.

And somewhere between these two men, I had to find my forever

My thoughts:

Uhhhh….I loved it! There were twists and turns on every corner I didn’t see coming. (And the cover is gorgeous ).Would recommend if you want an epic love story with a happy ending.

Douglas Make – Up Volume Obsession Mascara

My mom got the Douglas Advent Calendar and one of the things in it was this Mascara(mom gave it to me). And guys, This is amazing! It does give volume to my non-excisting lashes (I have short and thin lashes by the way)and it lasts ALL DAY!I’m so happy with it

This revelation changes her life forever as she begins a journey that takes her from her comfortable life on the Upper West Side through the cafes and nightclubs of Greenwich Village as she makes her way through the city’s comedy industry on a path that could ultimately lead her to a spot on the “Tonight Show” couch.
