Hello, My Darlings! How are you all doing? How’s the summer treating you? It’s again unbearably hot in Latvia, and the only thing I can do is sleep (Fun, I know). This July was interesting for me, we had a few celebrations (Mom’s birthday, Mine and My brother’s Name day’s) so did eat a lot of cake. But overall I just chilled, relaxed, before the busy August . And Congratulate me! I had a good blog post scheduling the whole month(2 posts a week). Very proud of that! Let’s dive into the July Favorites (Finally).

Coursera

Every course on Coursera is taught by top instructors from the world’s best universities and educational institutions. Courses include recorded video lectures, auto-graded and peer-reviewed assignments, and community discussion forums(you can access them by paying for a certificate, totally optional in my opinion). This is a great free resource for learning almost anything (I’m right now taking The Bible’s Prehistory, Purpose, and Political Future by Emory University and I love it). And the Language courses can be a great way to learn basics.

Basic Online – Ukrainian Lessons

Vocabulary

As someone who speaks Ukrainian, I can say these small vocabulary “lessons” are very well made and easy to understand. I wouldn’t use them for the whole curriculum(if you are trying to get fluent) but as an introduction and supplements – AMAZING!

Korean Textbook(PDF) + Audio – Korean from Zero

You can buy a printed textbook on book depository

I have this one and can’t wait to get started. It’s very textbook-based, so if you are a visual learner try to look for something else.

Q and A!

Photo by Jenny Pace on Unsplash

Hello, My Darlings! How are you all doing?

Today we are doing a Q and A(Questions and Answers).

Thank you, everyone, who asked the questions.

Let’s dive into it!

Questions

1. In general, what are the life paths young adults usually take in Latvia?

Most Young Adults after finishing highschool go to university, after that start working, get married . Basically the usual, nothing special in it.

 2. If you could move away, where would you go?

Oh, that’s a hard question, somewhere with lots of woods, and fresh air. I’m very happy living where I am now, because how safe and green it is, but it would be interesting to live for like a year in Panama.

3. Specifically, what inspired you to start this blog?

Other bloggers, Yes that’s a lame answer but that’s the truth. I remember reading Sui Princess blog and thinking how amazing it was to share your passion with others.

4. What do you work as and do you enjoy it?

I work for an NGO organization as an Art Director, basically, I make the scenarios for concerts, check the music and stuff like that. Do I enjoy it? I would say yes, it’s never boring.

5. What is your biggest fear?

Rats! Yup, I’m scared of them.

6. What five things would you take to an uninhabited island?

Sunscreen, a book about poisonous fruits/herbs, knife, magnifying glass, and matches.

7. What is your biggest regret?

I try to not regret anything if I have done something then it was the best I could at that time.

Planet Spa Sleep Serenity Pillow Mist
I paid– 3.49 euro
About the product: Aromatherapy comforting pillow mist to help calm, soothe and relax for a restful sleep. 100ml
My Thoughts: This is the one thing I wanted to try for years and finally I did. First of all, a little goes a long way. You just need one spritz on your pillow, because too much can give you a headache. I like it, would I repurchase it? Maybe. But I will definitely reuse the bottle after finishing this one.

I paid– 1.99 euro
About the product: Avon Incandescence was created on the border between classic and modern, that why you will be electrifying and inspire everyone whom you meet. It uses a special design of the fragrance, which opens with the passage of time. The fragrance is changing and flourishes with you. Each phase of its flowery fragrance culminates in a different time frame because otherwise, you smell in the morning and evening.
My Thoughts: I got it to keep in my bag, for the price it’s good roller type mini perfume. Very similar to my Salvador Dali perfume.

Book Review – The Marriage Pact by Winter Renshaw(Spoiler free)

ABOUT THE BOOK

ede0755338e6a4e41de86c09614db4f9_decorative-underline-clipart-clipartfest-drawing-art-_370-370

I was sixteen when I vowed I would never marry him.
We shook on it. Pinky swore. Even put it in writing and all but signed our names in blood.
It was the one and only thing we ever agreed on.
To the world, he’s Prince Julian, Duke of Montcroix, second in line to the Chamont throne. Panty-melting accent. Royal charm. Hypnotic presence. Blindingly gorgeous. Laundry list of women all over the world who would give their first born for the chance to marry him. Most eligible bachelor in the free world …
But to me, he’s nothing more than the son of my father’s best friend—the pesky blue-eyed boy who made it his mission to annoy the ever-loving hell out of me summer after summer as our families vacationed together, our parents oblivious to our mutual disdain as they joked about our “betrothal.”
He was also my first kiss.
And my first taste of heartbreak so cataclysmic it almost broke me.
I meant it with every fiber of my soul when I swore I’d never marry him.
But on the eve of my 24th birthday, His Royal Highness has the audacity to show up at my door after years of silence and make a demand will forever change the trajectory of our lives: “We have to break our pact.”

MY THOUGHTS

The story– 3/5

Setting of the book–4/5

Main Hero– 3,/5

Smexy Times?– Some

Ahh…..This was underwhelming. I expected a little bit of a different story. The ‘plot twist” was teased almost in every chapter ….it was unexpected but underwhelming. The story has problems ,was the worst book ever? No. I enjoyed some parts, it was an okay book, I loved the setting, the writing was good. Would I recommend? For a fast summer read sure

3/5 stars

Blogging for 3 Years -What have I learned

Photo by Nicole Honeywill on Unsplash

Hello, My Darlings or Hey if you are new here!I’m Anna a beauty and lifestyle blogger from Latvia. How are you all doing? So if you didn’t know I started my blog in 2017, 3 years ago now. I have learned a lot at this time, and being a part of the blogging community did change my life in many ways. Let’s talk about some of those things I learned!

fancy-lines-clipart-fancy-straight-lines-clipart-free-images-at-clker-vector-clip-art

 Scheduling posts is a MUST

Feeling Inspired? Amazing…write until you drop and then schedule. Yes, I know sounds wild, but this is the way it works for me. If you don’t know WordPress has an amazing feature called Post Scheduling. Basically, you write when you can and/or feel inspired and then schedule for, let’s say next week and it will post it for you. This feature is one of my favorites and so important for me.

tenor.gif

Planning, Planning and again Planning

This is self-explanatory, we all have lives outside of Blogging (Family, Job, Friends, etc) so planning not only your posts but the time when you can write is important. I always write down 20 ideas what I want to write in the month, and then when I have time (and inspiration) I take one of those ideas and go with it. It does make my life a little bit easier.

3f7d8dedfca501015a14b977312b3df0.gif

Visual media is a great way to add on a story

I know some people who don’t like to put lot’s of visual media in they’re posts and that’s totally cool. But for me…I love to put as much Gif’s as I can.Gif’s, videos, photos….those things can add SOOOO much to the story!

source (1).gif

Creepy stories help me write!

This one was such a random thing I learned about myself. I’m one of those people that need white noise,  It helps me to get in the “writing zone”.But creepy stories?! That was something new.

source (2).gif

Photos….learn to take them!

This was something I did know I need to learn, but I didn’t know how important it really was! Photos can make your post or break it, and you don’t get it before actually seeing it. So I’m trying to do my best and put up good quality content with beautiful photos.

June Favorites(2019 edition)

Photo by Sandrachile . on Unsplash

Hello, My Darlings! How are you all doing? How was your June? For me, it was a very interesting one. Half of the month I felt like I was in the twilight zone, and my friends and family felt the same way. I don’t know what was going on, but I can say it was crazy. In June it was hella hot in Latvia(very unusual), but I still haven’t opened the swimming season (hope to do that in July). But I did try a lot of new things in June(Like making stuffed bell peppers or cutting my brothers hair). Overall it was an okay month. Let’s dive into the Favorites!

FAVORITE BOOK OF THE MONTH

book coverThe Moth and the Flame

(When Rivals Play #2) by B.B. Reid

THE FLAME

Here lies Louchana Valentine. She was a homeless, orphaned virgin.

I never cared what my gravestone would say until I landed in deep with a powerful gangster. Lucky for me, my best friend happens to be ruthless too. I should feel guilty that he’s forced to turn on the man who’s been a father to him. Except I’ve always known that Wren’s soul wasn’t as black as he claimed.

He was good.
He was beautiful.
He was mine.
He just didn’t know it yet.

And with Wren keeping me safe, I’ve got time left to rewrite the end of my story. But if he has his way, virgin is already carved in stone.

THE MOTH

I’ve never known anyone as alluring as Lou. Or as frustrating. Since the night she saved my life and stole my wallet for her troubles, I couldn’t stay away.

She became my onus.
My light.
My…anyway.

With nowhere to run, I’m forced to trust someone I never expected. At least with Lou safe in Blackwood Keep—far away from me—I’ll die with my conscience intact. Because she no longer looks at me with friendship in her eyes. Those iridescent blues shine with a different need entirely, and I’ve never been able to deny her.

The Moth and the Flame returns to the world of Blackwood Keep, rival gangs, and deliciously flawed yet completely addicting characters! This second installment in the When Rivals Play series is a continuation of the events that occurred in The Peer and the Puppet. Content suitable for ages 18+

Jake Epping (James Franco), a recently divorced English teacher from Lisbon, Maine, is presented with the chance to travel back in time to 1960 by his long-time friend Al Templeton (Chris Cooper). He is persuaded into going in an attempt to prevent the assassination of John F. Kennedy on November 22nd, 1963; however, he becomes attached to the life he makes in the past, which could be the mission’s undoing. He must find a way to secretly gather information about people and events leading up to the assassination while also creating and maintaining a new life to avoid suspicion.
