“Nice Girls Don’t Have Fangs by Molly Harper” review -Blogtober day 28

Nice Girls Don’t Have Fangs

(Jane Jameson #1)

5618698Maybe it was the Shenanigans gift certificate that put her over the edge. When children’s librarian and self-professed nice girl Jane Jameson is fired by her beastly boss and handed twenty-five dollars in potato skins instead of a severance check, she goes on a bender that’s sure to become Half Moon Hollow legend. On her way home, she’s mistaken for a deer, shot, and left for dead. And thanks to the mysterious stranger she met while chugging neon-colored cocktails, she wakes up with a decidedly unladylike thirst for blood.

Jane is now the latest recipient of a gift basket from the Newly Undead Welcoming Committee, and her life-after-lifestyle is taking some getting used to. Her recently deceased favorite aunt is now her ghostly roommate. She has to fake breathing and endure daytime hours to avoid coming out of the coffin to her family. She’s forced to forgo her favorite down-home Southern cooking for bags of O negative. Her relationship with her sexy, mercurial vampire sire keeps running hot and cold. And if all that wasn’t enough, it looks like someone in Half Moon Hollow is trying to frame her for a series of vampire murders. What’s a nice undead girl to do?

The story– 5/5

Setting of the book– 3/5(It was a little bit meeh)

Main Hero– 5/5 (I loved Jane)

Smexy Times?– Some

Overall – 4.5/5 stars

Think I have found the ideal book to read on Halloween! This was everything I love in a book and more. Vampires, werewolves, crazy librarians and mistery men. Basically a perfect book, but the plot wasn’t perfect. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed and laughed reading it , but the plot wasn’t what I expected. Would I recommend? Totaly, just don’t expect anything serious and plot-driven.

Favorite Quotes from the Book

“See this glass? This morning, I would have said this glass isn’t half empty. It’s half full. And I was used to that. My whole life has been half full. Half-full family, half-full personal life, half-full career. But I settled for it. I was used to it. Did I already say that I was used to it?”

She was the type of librarian who has “Reading is supposed to be educational, not fun” tattooed somewhere.

Welcome to the fascinating world of the undead! Please use this guidebook as a handy reference as you make your first steps toward eternity. Inside you will find information on vampire nutrition, relationships, and safety. But before learning about your future, a word about our past…
—From The Guide for the Newly Undead

When vampires are turned, they buy leather pants. It’s kind of like when human men get divorced, they get a sad apartment and a boat. It’s a rite of passage.

“She finally did it!” I screeched, clutching my cotton-covered rear. “Mama tranquilized me and booked me on Extreme Makeover!”

Why was this sweet man engaged to my Grandma? I can only imagine that he actually wanted to die, and he saw marriage to her as his only way out.

“You don’t have the emotional maturity of a grapefruit. A tangerine, maybe, but I think you’ve got to work your way up to grapefruit.”

Creepypastas to listen on Halloween-Blogtober day 27

Hello, My Darlings! How are you all doing? Are you in the Halloween mood? Today I want to share with you all my favorite creepypastas.

What is CreepyPasta?

Creepypastas are horror-related legends or images that have been copied and pasted around the Internet. These Internet entries are often brief, user-generated, paranormal stories intended to scare readers. They include gruesome tales of murder, suicide, and otherworldly occurrences.

Let’s dive into it!

Romancing the Duke by Tessa Dare review- Blogtober day 26

Romancing the Duke

(Castles Ever After #1)

by Tessa Dare

18052985About the book: In the first in Tessa Dare’s captivating Castles Ever After series, a mysterious fortress is the setting for an unlikely love . . .

As the daughter of a famed author, Isolde Ophelia Goodnight grew up on tales of brave knights and fair maidens. She never doubted romance would be in her future, too. The storybooks offered endless possibilities.

And as she grew older, Izzy crossed them off. One by one by one.

Ugly duckling turned swan?
Abducted by handsome highwayman?
Rescued from drudgery by charming prince?

No, no, and… Heh.

Now Izzy’s given up yearning for romance. She’ll settle for a roof over her head. What fairy tales are left over for an impoverished twenty-six year-old woman who’s never even been kissed?

This one.

The story– 3/5

Setting of the book– 4/5

Main Hero– 3/5

Smexy Times?– Some

Overall – 3,5/5 stars

Basically, this is a story of love, cosplayers(yes, you read it right) and a blind grumpy Duke. This was good, I liked the story. The writing was amazing(and that’s always a plus), but my problem was …I didn’t connect with Izzy, I don’t why. Overall a good book, I would recommend!

Favorite Quotes from the Book
What fairy tales were left over for a plain, impoverished, twenty-six-year-old woman who’d never even been kissed?
This one.
Izzy had always been raised to believe that “please” was a magic word.
She’d been misled.
Apparently, the magic word was “dinner.” In addition, the words “bath” and “comfortable room” had their own particular charms. When spoken in quick succession, they had the power of an incantation. Izzy hadn’t been able to say no.
Ready, steady . . . matrimony!

Best sleeping remedies for you to try – Blogtober day 24

Photo by Kinga Cichewicz on Unsplash

Hello, My Darlings! How are you all doing? I hope this week is going amazing for you. Today I want to talk about sleep! Are you sleeping well lately? If not, there are some “remedies” to try. Let’s dive into it!

Chamomile Tea

There are lots of health benefits of Chamomile Tea(Treating cold symptoms, Reducing menstrual pain, Reducing inflammation etc)and one of them is helping you to relax and sleep peacefully. Try to drink a cup 20 minutes before going to bed and see yourself it works. (definitely check if you have allergies before using it)rBVaGVoGGMmANLM2AAI9ezWCvAc278

Sleeping mask

Any light source can wake you up? Why not try a sleeping mask! This has changed my sleep quality for the better, never knew such a little thing can change so much. I would totally recommend you to try a sleeping mask.

Pillow Mist

This is something I’m using a lot recently, right now I’m trying the Avon one, but any pillow mist would work. Just one “mist” on the pillow and the Lavanda with chamomile slowly relaxes you.

Take a bath

What’s better than getting a long soak before bed?! Nothing! So get your favorite bath bomb, relaxing music, and scented candles. For the best results, take your bath 1 or 2 hours before sleep.

Fairy Godmother Gone Bad by Sadie Carter(book review)-Blogtober day 23

Fairy Godmother Gone Bad

By Sadie Carter

About the book: She should be good. But being bad was way more fun.

Esme did one bad thing and suddenly she finds herself banished from fairyland, her powers stripped, sentenced to thirty years on the most boring realm in fairyland. All right, so maybe calling Cinderella a stuck-up cow and taking the king’s Porsche on a joy ride wasn’t her finest moment, but surely that didn’t deserve banishment, right?

But the fairy council didn’t see it that way. She’s been banished. With no freedom in sight.

Until the fairy council needs help. They need someone clever, someone, with excellent glamour…someone expendable if it all goes bad.

They need Esme.

Only they’re not stupid enough to send her in on her own. They send her in with the man she blames for everything.

Oh well, you know what they say about partners. If you can’t work with them, you find some way of making their deaths look like a tragic, tragic accident.

Hmm, suddenly this job doesn’t seem so bad.

The story– 5/5

Setting of the book– 3/5

Main Hero– 4/5

Smexy Times?– Some

Overall – 4/5 stars

Trigger warning -mention of suicide

Ohh I love books like this! A really fast and interesting read. I really liked Esme, she was such a funny and spunky character and Antonio was such a loveable control freak. The only thing I wanted more…Like we didn’t get to see Esme”s childhood (those snippets that we got to see, wasn’t enough for me)and Antonio backstory we didn’t get to see at all. But overall it’s a good book, well written, I just wanted more!

Favorite Quotes from the Book

All twenty-seven bridesmaids—and really, who had twenty-seven friends close enough to be bridesmaids?

She thought marrying a prince would bring her happiness. It wouldn’t. But that wasn’t Esme’s concern.
Why her? She is going to bring trouble and chaos to our well-ordered life.
I know. Won’t it be fun?
“Yeah, well, she’s my new sidekick. All kickass crime fighters need a sidekick, right? Betsy can be mine.”
“She’s. A. Cow.”
“So, are we ever going to talk about the elephant in the room?”
“I do not know who taught you about animals, but that is not an elephant. It is a cow. And it cannot stay here,” he replied,
He couldn’t have shocked her more if he’d told her that he kept a pet dinosaur called Tiny in his basement.

Today I want to talk about beauty products,  I have already done posts like this one(Beauty Products I Liked, Hated and Didn’t care about.Pt1 and Beauty Products I Liked, Hated and Didn’t care about.Pt2). Definitely check them out if you haven’t already!Let’s dive into the products!

1.Avon Citrus Zing Shower Gel

This is my favorite Shower gel this season! It’s such a great scent, wakes me up right away and doesn’t make my skin too oily(like some other shower gels).

Would I Repurchase it ? – YES!!!!

Was It affordable? – Yes

About the Product:Leaves skin feeling shower-fresh and moisturized.

  • Zingy Citrus and Mandarin.
  • Refreshing and uplifting.

2.ISANA “fall in love” Orange and Vanilla shower gel

Isn’t the name funny?! To be honest it’s perfect! Such a ‘Fall” scent , really heavy on orange and vanilla.Would recommend this for the Fall season!

Would I Repurchase it ?- Maybe

Was It affordable?- Yes,it was under 2 euros.

3. seventh generation Laundry Detergent – Free and Clear

Not really a beauty product, but I still wanted to share! I got it as a free promotional gift with my grocery purchase, and I can say it’s a pretty good laundry Detergent. 80% of my household cleaning supplies are ecological and/or plant-based, so I can see if something is worth it or not and this is worth it!. I love that this doesn’t have a scent, suitable for sensitive skin, washes the clothes really well. Overall I like it!

Would I Repurchase it ? – Yes, I loved it! Will definitely get the full version.

Was It affordable? – I got it for free,so yes!

About the Product : Our Laundry Detergent is tough on stains and made from plant-based ingredients. With no dyes, optical brighteners or fragrances, Seventh Generation Laundry Detergent gives you great results in HE and standard machines, and works in all water temperatures. We have made this formula without fragrances and tested it for skin irritation and sensitization. Always use as directed.

4.Avon Scent Mix Romantic Bouquet Eau De Toilette 30ml

I hate it….I’m sorry but this is just bad! It doesn’t stay on the skin for more than an hour…AN HOUR!ONE HOUR…What the point in this perfume I don’t know!I’m using this as a room scent, because that’s the only thing it’s good. But on the other side, it would be perfect for like a 10-year-old girl as a gift. It doesn’t stay long so even if the child would drench herself in this perfume, it would stay just an hour. In conclusion –For a grown-up women-NO, but for a little girl-YES!

Would I Repurchase it?- No

Was It affordable?- I got it for 4.99, for what it is I would call it overpriced.

About the Product : Violet blossom, peony petals and vetiver.

5.Flying Tiger Copenhagen balm for face and lips

This is such a great balm for those dry patches and chapped lips. Is it the best thing I have ever used? No, but it’s good.

Would I Repurchase it ?- Maybe

Was It affordable? – It was 3 euros, so yes it was affordable

My Current Skincare routine(for oily skin)- Blogtober day 20

Photo by Jernej Graj on Unsplash

MADARA “Birch & Algae” Balancing Face Soap

I use it every day, in the mornings and evenings!

About the product: A new approach to facial skincare.
Vitamins and minerals of Nordic birch and algae balance the skin, while botanical soap base gently cleanses and washes away all impurities. Enriched with the skin nourishing wheat germ oil and plant sugars helping the skin to retain its moisture.

Vegan-Friendly, Nut-free

Why I use it: I’m using this up! I loved the  “MADARA”CHARCOAL DETOX SOAP (it’s similar to the Lush charcoal one), so I decided to try this one too. To be honest the Charcoal soap was much better. Don’t get me wrong it’s a good face soap, just for my face needs it’s not enough. Will definitely get more of the Charcoal one.

Clearskin Pore & Shine Control Mattifying Moisturiser

I use it every day, in the mornings and evenings!

About the product : Tired of battling shiny, oily skin? This mattifying moisturiser helps control sebum while reducing imperfections and minimising the look of pores. Contains Pore Penetrating Technology, salicylic acid, eucalyptus extract and witch hazel extract.

Why I use it: I wanted to try it! It sounded good and I liked the ingredients. So what can I say about it, it does help with pores but not acne. I will definitely use it up, but I don’t think I would repurchase it . If you can recommend some other moisturizer, definitely leave it down below.

BelKosmex Teebaum acne treatment

I use it once a day on my acne.

About the product: Unique antibacterial agent of “quick response”. Instantly soothes sore skin. Dries pimples and eliminates acne. A special anti-acne complex regulates the activity of the sebaceous glands, has anti-inflammatory, moisturizing effect, enhances metabolic processes, healing the skin.

Why I use it: This is my holy grail product, I love it so much! It’s such a great, fast and affordable treatment for acne. I always use it to fight my acne, and it works wonders. It really helps with inflammatory.

prod_1194429_1_613x613Clearskin Pore & Shine Control Black Mineral Mask

I use it 2-3 times a week.

About the product: Effective oil-absorbing face mask acts like a magnet to pull out pore-clogging dirt and help leave skin feel perfectly clean and clear. Formulated with witch hazel and eucalyptus. How to use :Apply a thin layer to face and wait 10-15 minutes for mask to transform in colour from black to light grey. Once completely dry, rinse off thoroughly with warm water. Use 2-3 times per week.

Why I use it: Another product I’m trying out. It’s a pretty good, affordable face mask, my skin does feel better after using it.
