Hello, My Darlings and Hi if You are new here ! It’s so nice to see you. It’s day 2 of Blogtober and today I want to talk about spooky movies, my favorite ones to be specific. Some of those are Cute Spooky(as not terrifying) and some are Spooky Spooky (like actually terrifying).

Let’s dive into it!

Halloweentown

Halloweentown - 1998In a place called Halloweentown, good and evil look very different than one might expect. Thanks to a visit from Grandmother Aggie (Debbie Reynolds), Marnie (Kimberly J. Brown) and her family’s tradition of ignoring the Halloween holiday are about to change in the extreme. It seems that Marnie’s mother Gwen (Judith Hoag) has been hiding a big secret from her three children–all of them possess supernatural powers. giphy (6)Now that it’s Marnie’s thirteenth birthday, she must begin her training as a witch or lose her powers forever. While Gwen wants nothing more than to see her children grow up as “normal” humans, Grandmother Aggie and Marnie have other ideas. A brewing crisis between good and evil in the alternate world Halloweentown soon pulls the entire family through a portal and into an intense battle against ghouls, goblins and the warlock Kalabar (Robin Thomas).

Why I love this movie: It’s such a classical October movie! I remember the first time watching this and loving every second. Halloweentown was a place I wanted to visit as a kid, and see for myself this magical world. Great family-friendly, but still creepy movie(because let’s be real, talking skeletons are spooky and a little bit creepy). The plot is enjoyable not only for kids but adults too.

The Addams Family

Addams-Family-1991-3Gomez Addams laments the 25-year absence of his brother Fester, who disappeared after the two had a falling-out. Gomez’s lawyer Tully Alford owes money to loan shark/con artist Abigail Craven, and notices that her adopted son Gordon closely resembles Fester. Tully proposes that Gordon pose as Fester to infiltrate the Addams household and find the hidden vault where they keep their vast riches. Tully and his wife Margaret attend a séance at the Addams home led by Grandmama in which the family tries to contact Fester’s spirit. 8a56bb141eb042c7869dcae324b8192fGordon arrives, posing as Fester, while Abigail poses as a German psychiatrist named Dr. Greta Pinder-Schloss and tells the family that Fester had been lost in the Bermuda Triangle for the past 25 years.

Why I love this movie: Who doesn’t love The Addams family?! Gomez and Morticia Addams are couple goals! The story is amazing, and the acting is phenomenal.  Any Addams family movie is the perfect cozy and spooky thing to watch on a rainy day(but still family-friendly).Just make some hot cocoa and snuggle under a soft blanket and enjoy this spooky movie.

The Little Stranger

268x0wDuring the long, hot summer of 1948, Dr. Faraday travels to Hundreds Hall, home to the Ayres family for more than two centuries. The Hall is now in decline, and its inhabitants — mother, son and daughter — remain haunted by something more ominous than a dying way of life. tumblr_pi4zvtnZaB1rabru8o1_500When Faraday takes on a new patient there, he has no idea how closely the family’s story is about to become entwined with his own.Intended for a mature audience

Why I love this movie: This dark, gothic drama is such a perfect movie to watch in the darkest October nights. The first time I watched “The Little Stranger” it was confusing, is it a movie about ghosts? Or a Serial Killer? We don’t know, That’s why I recommend you to watch it out!

Stoker

stoker-1200-1200-675-675-crop-000000India Stoker’s (Mia Wasikowska) world comes crashing down when her father (Jacki Weaver) dies in a car accident. Adding to the girl’s emotional turmoil is the sudden arrival of Charlie (Matthew Goode), an uncle whom she never knew existed.QctU Charlie moves in with India and her unstable mother (Nicole Kidman), and soon India begins to suspect that this charming and mysterious man has ulterior motives. However, instead of feeling alarmed, India becomes increasingly infatuated with him.Intended for a mature audience

Why I love this movie: This one is a crazy ride from start to finish(buckle up), twisted thriller drama to keep you up in the darker October nights. Don’t want to spoil anything(no one likes spoilers) so get yourself a glass of wine, some chocolate and enjoy this masterpiece.

Tell me in the comments, What’s your favorite Spooky movie?

That’s it from me

Till next time
