A Deal with the Elf King (Married to Magic #1) by Elise Kova – book review

55285911The elves come for two things: war and wives. In both cases, they come for death.

Three-thousand years ago, humans were hunted by powerful races with wild magic until the treaty was formed. Now, for centuries, the elves have taken a young woman from Luella’s village to be their Human Queen.

To be chosen is seen as a mark of death by the townsfolk. A mark nineteen-year-old Luella is grateful to have escaped as a girl. Instead, she’s dedicated her life to studying herbology and becoming the town’s only healer.

That is, until the Elf King unexpectedly arrives… for her.

Ammmmm….I’m in love!First of all the cover is amazing, second of all…If you like Holly Black and S.J Maas you will enjoy this one. This was such a good book!!! Exactly what I needed. Beautiful writing , beautiful world building ,the romance was amazing and slow burn…I’m so pleased with this book!!! 5 stars 🌟,this is going on my favourites list.

“Our work is what we do, not who we are.

“Love is choice,”

They don’t care. I’m just a tool to them to make their flowers bloom and fields fertile. I’m a walking bag of manure in their eyes.

“Because for all my life I was told I was waiting for just one woman. But if I spent my years sequestered and alone for nothing, then please let me know. I’d love to know what options I have.”

“You are a moody prince glorified with a thorny-looking, iron crown,”

“You will respect me!” Eldas shouts.“Be someone worthy of respecting first!” I slam the door behind me.

“Your Grace, Her Majesty and…Her Majesty’s wolf.”

  1. This book totally seems like my type of book, but I can’t read it yet. I need to wait for the full series and I’m… already tired of waiting :,(
