June Wrap Up(2020)

Hello! How are you? Hope you are doing well? How was your June? Well…mine was crazy,I started a youtube channel and was part of#CreepyJuneReads project on Instagram and I did a 24hreadathon with the Readathon Babes! And it was amazing. Basically I tried really hard to be productive. So let’s talk books now!

Mr. Cavendish, I Presume

(Two Dukes of Wyndham #2)

                                                                          by Julia Quinn

joanna-kosinska-kKfVAvdBsAw-unsplash
for blog bookAmelia Willoughby has been engaged to the Duke of Wyndham for as long as she can remember. Literally. A mere six months old when the contracts were signed, she has spent the rest of her life waiting. And waiting. And waiting … for Thomas Cavendish, the oh-so-lofty duke, to finally get around to marrying her. But as she watches him from afar, she has a sneaking suspicion that he never thinks about her at all …It’s true. He doesn’t. Thomas rather likes having a fiancee — all the better to keep the husband-hunters at bay — and he does intend to marry her … eventually. But just when he begins to realize that his bride might be something more than convenient, Thomas’s world is rocked by the arrival of his long-lost cousin, who may or may not be the true Duke of Wyndham. And if Thomas is not the duke, then he’s not engaged to Amelia. Which is the cruelest joke of all, because this arrogant and illustrious duke has made the mistake of falling in love … with his own fiancee!

A book by Julia Quinn I haven’t read?! Is this real?Yes,those were my exact thoughts when I found this one and I can say…I enjoyed it (logical…it’s Julia Quinn…my autobuy author). And I love it,it’s such a good book and the story was sweet. Overall you NEED to check it out!

What to Do with a Duke

(Spinster House #1)

by Sally MacKenzie

joanna-kosinska-kKfVAvdBsAw-unsplash

Welcome to the charming, fatefully named village of Loves Bridge, where a woman22891422 destined for spinsterhood can live a life of her own choosing—or fall unexpectedly, madly in love…

Miss Isabelle Catherine Hutting would rather be lounging in the library than circling the ballroom in search of a husband any day. So when Cat hears that the town’s infamous Spinster House is open for a new resident, she jumps at the chance to put all this marriage business behind her. But first she must make arrangements with her prospective landlord, Marcus, the Duke of Hart—the most handsome man she’s ever seen, and the only man who’s ever impressed her in the least…

With her wit, independent spirit, and not least of all her beauty, Marcus can’t help but be stirred by Cat. It’s terribly unfortunate he’s not looking to marry, given the centuries-old curse that left his family with the Spinster House to begin with. No duke shall live to see his heir’s birth. But is there a chance the curse could be broken—in true fairy-tale fashion—by an act of true love? The race to Happily Ever After is about to begin…

jessica-ruscello-OQSCtabGkSY-unsplash

Mmmmkay ,I really liked it (and the cover is pretty 😍)The writing style was good ,loved Cat’s siblings and this mystical “curse” was a very intriguing part of the story. Overall a great historical romance to read by the pool💕

A Good Day to Marry a Duke

(Sin and Sensibility #1)

by Betina Krahn

joanna-kosinska-kKfVAvdBsAw-unsplash

34568964._SY475_Daisy Bumgarten isn’t thrilled to be trying to catch a duke’s attention while dressed like a flower pot caught in a swarm of butterflies. But, after all, when in Rome (or in this case London society)… Since her decidedly disastrous debut among New York’s privileged set, the sassy Nevada spitfire’s last chance to “marry well” lies across the pond, here in England. If she must restrain her free spirit, not to mention her rib cage, so be it. She knows she owes it to her three younger sisters to succeed.

Now, under a countess’s tutelage, Daisy appears the perfect duchess-in-training…Until notorious ladies’ man Lord Ashton Graham, a distraction of the most dangerous kind, glimpses her mischievous smile and feisty nature—and attempts to unmask her motives. Daisy has encountered snakes on the range, but one dressed to the nines in an English drawing room is positively unnerving—and maddeningly seductive. When a veiled plot emerges to show up Daisy as unworthy of the aristocracy, will Ashton be her worst detractor? Or the nobleman she needs most of all?

jessica-ruscello-OQSCtabGkSY-unsplash

It was a cute story! I loved Daisy and Ashton, the chemistry was there and that’s amazing. Great writing style, interesting story…Overall I would recommend!

The Bookish Boyfriends series by Tiffany Schmidt

joanna-kosinska-kKfVAvdBsAw-unsplash

Boys are so much better in books. At least according to Merrilee Campbell, fifteen, who thinks real-life chivalry is dead and there’d be nothing more romantic than having a guy woo her like the heroes in classic stories. Then she, her best friend, Eliza, and her younger sister, Rory, transfer to Reginald R. Hero Prep—where all the boys look like they’ve stepped off the pages of a romance novel. Merri can hardly walk across the quad without running into someone who reminds her of Romeo.

When the brooding and complicated Monroe Stratford scales Merri’s trellis in an effort to make her his, she thinks she might be Juliet incarnate. But as she works her way through her literature curriculum under the guidance of an enigmatic teacher, Merri’s tale begins to unfold in ways she couldn’t have imagined. Merri soon realizes that only she is in charge of her story. And it is a truth universally acknowledged that first impressions can be deceiving . . .

February Favorites(2020 edition)

Photo by Debby Hudson on Unsplash

Hello, my Darlings. How are you? It’s so nice to see you on my blog. February was a slow month for me, I got sick and did stay in bed for the majority of the month. So, of course, I read a lot of books and watched some old tv shows. But I did have some favorites this month too…so let’s dive into it!

eberhard-grossgasteiger-NvesrDbsrL4-unsplash

IMG_20200224_170307

Oriflame “Milk & Honey”Hand and Body cream

This is one of the best creams I have ever used(no joke)! Like it helps moisturize your skin but isn’t greasy. Has a light, but very lovely scent(I’m obsessed). I’m definitely buying more!

IMG_20200224_170351

Essence Prime+ studio Mattifying +pore minimizing Primer with black clay

One of my favorite primers ever! This really helps with pore minimizing but doesn’t clog up pores. Would recommend!

IMG_20200224_170438

Avon True Supreme Nourishing lipsticks in the color Softest Peony

Our weather was colder in February, so I didn’t wear a lot of matt lipsticks. This one was my lifesaver, this is a hydrating but a long-lasting lipstick! Has a beautiful semi-sheer finish. I really like it.

eberhard-grossgasteiger-NvesrDbsrL4-unsplash

For this one, I have two books. Both made me very emotional, but in a good way.

The first one is The Bromance Book Club (Bromance Book Club #1) by Lyssa Kay Adams

44019067._SY475_

This was my DYRC20 pick for February (here is the full review). All I can say it’s an amazing book, and you need to check it out!

and the second one “Truce? Hating Elijah Monroe” by Amelia Kingston

47885456._UY2048_SS2048_

This made me cry in the best way possible, there will be a review next week. So stay tuned for that!

The family at 1313 Mockingbird Lane is a little… different. Dad Herman looks like Frankenstein’s monster; mom Lily and her dad, Grandpa, are vampires; and son Eddie is a werewolf. Poor Marilyn, their niece, is the odd one out — she’s just a normal girl. And the family doesn’t like to call attention to her unfortunate looks.

Taking Part in the “2020 Diversify Your Reading” Challenge

Photo by Florencia Viadana on Unsplash

Hello, My Darlings! It’s the end of the first month of 2020 and I need a Challenge, because why not…am I right? And why not challenge me for the whole year? So I found this amazing 2020 reading challenge on the monganmoments blog, she has a Facebook group and Instagram for this challenge, basically, the whole package definitely checks it out.   Let’s read what genres we have for the whole year!

2020 Diversify Your Reading Challenge

  • JANUARY: Historical Fiction
  • FEBRUARY: Romance
  • MARCH: Self-Help/How-To
  • APRIL: Young Adult
  • MAY: Science Fiction
  • JUNE: Non-Fiction
  • JULY: Suspense/Thriller
  • AUGUST: Contemporary Fiction
  • SEPTEMBER: True Crime
  • OCTOBER: Fantasy
  • NOVEMBER: Memoir & Autobiography
  • DECEMBER: Mystery

hghj

My plan for this is to read at least 1 book from the genres we have in the specific month and then write a review, but I can only read my  Physical TBR books,If I don’t have any in that genres than I can get an Ebook(those are rules I made for myself)I already have. I can see already that some will totally bring me out of my comfort zone(like non-fiction or Self-Help). Can’t wait! So we are skipping January(because it’s already ending).

So ready for the Challenge!

Unpopular Opinion: I prefer Ebooks to Physical books and here is Why

Photo by Jasmin Whiscy on Unsplash

Don’t get me wrong, physical books are great and I do buy a lot of them(and you should too, nothing beats owning a physical copy of your favorite novel). Just with my lifestyle right now, Ebooks are my go-to, and  I do reach for them more. Here are some reasons why I prefer Ebooks to Physical books. Let’s dive into it!

ede0755338e6a4e41de86c09614db4f9_decorative-underline-clipart-clipartfest-drawing-art-_370-370

  • You can read ebooks anytime and anywhere

Wanna read in the dark? Easy! Wanna read a very specific book on the train? No problem! This is so important for me because my whole library is always in my pocket and I can read whatever I want or need. I’m a mood reader so it’s very important for me!

giphy (1)

  • Most Ebooks are cheaper than Physical books

We all know Hardcover books are expensive, of course, there are discounts and coupons but a new and anticipated realize will be expensive …but an ebook will be much cheaper AND you will get it the second you buy it. And there are always free ebooks in the amazon kindle app, what can be better than free?!

giphy (2)

  • There are some books you can only get as an ebook(mostly self-publish books)

There are so many ebooks that have never (and will never) be published on paper. It doesn’t mean they are worst then other books, just e-printing is a cheaper and faster way for authors to get their book out to the people. Some of my favorite books you can only get as an ebook and they are amazing! So definitely go check out some ebooks right away.

Best-book-ever

My 2020 New Year Resolutions and Why I failed my 2019 Resolutions…

Photo by Jelleke Vanooteghem on Unsplash

Hello, My Darlings! And Hey if you are new here, it’s so nice to see you on my blog. The New 2020 year is getting closer and closer that means it’s the time of Resolutions. Did you keep yours? Because I didn’t(well okay I did keep some, at least I tried). My reasoning? I had the wrong motivation for some of them(like learn Spanish, I wanted to do it for a guy and lemme tell you it’s never a good idea). You can read my 2019 resolutions here! So this year I wanted to write things I’m actually excited about. Let’s dive into it!

  • Be More Active on my Blog

I love blogging and I do want to do it more regularly. I did try to be more active in 2019, and I kind of did. But with life getting busier and me not having as much time or inspiration I wasn’t as active as I wanted to be. So in 2020, I’m planning to get better with blogging schedule and post more high-quality posts for you!

good

  • Start a New And Useful Hobby (something like soap making, candle making or baking)

I have a lot of hobbies( like collecting dolls or reading books), but let’s be real they are nor very useful (as in not contributing to my life in a practical way). So in 2020 I’m planning to start a new hobby, will definitely let you know how’s it’s going.

giphy

  • Get deeper in my Faith

This is something I feel very inspired to do! And I can’t wait to really dive into Christianity from a historical and spiritual point of view.
