Christmas in May – “Enchanted Christmas” movie review

Young widow Laura Trudeau (Alexa PenaVega) was a remarkable dancer. As a project manager she is tasked with renovating a dilapidated lodge in her hometown of Rosemont, Utah and have it ready by Christmas Eve. She is stunned to discover it’s the same lodge where she and her former love and dance partner Ricardo Archuleta (PenaVega) performed each Christmas. While surveying the property Laura comes face-to-face with Ricardo shocked to discover he is rehearsing the shows grand finale with his new dance partner Taylor. When Taylor has an audition abroad, Laura temporarily steps in and finds herself back in Ricardo’s arms. Feelings begin to resurface in the hope of rekindling their romance just as Taylor returns with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for Ricardo. Laura, not wanting to get in the way of Carlos dream, encourages him to go. Now with both the hotel opening and the show in jeopardy Laura is faced with having to make some difficult decisions, both personally and professionally.

A girl from a big city, comes home to her small town and there rekindles her relationship with an ex-flame.  Pretty cliche, not mad at it. I really loved the daughter of Laura ,she was the cutest. lejupielāde (1)But…the actual movie was boring…Yes,I said it, it’s boring. Like it wasn’t bad, just not the most interesting Christmas movie I have seen.

3 out of 5 stars!

giphy (18)Our main couple is married in real life,so I was very surprised ,because the chemistry was flat. I don’t know what happened but the whole movie the relationship felt just meh.

It’s a Christmas movie,so logical it’s a happy ending . I wasn’t mad at it,it was cute.

Wacky Christmas Challenge

Happy dancing!

Hello, my lovely people!I’m not dead(obviously), but just very busy with life and work.I didn’t expect my December to be so full of events and stuff I needed to do, so I’m very sorry to not be able to post as much(I’m so envious of all the other bloggers, who do such amazing holiday posts, I’m jealous..but in a good way)I’m back with a new tag,a Christmas one(Finally?!).Thank you jadewheelerblog for tagging me.If you haven’t check out her blog already I would highly recommend, she is such a sweetheart and her blog is AMAZING!

The rules

  • Use the tag image Lizzy created.
  • Link to the creator(Lizzy) and the original post.
  • Thank the blogger who nominated you and link to their blog.
  • Answer the 6 wacky Christmas questions.
  • Tag 6 new people.
  • Copy and paste the same questions for the people you tagged

Your Questions
What is the strangest thing you ever got for Christmas?

I haven’t really got anything strange for Christmas, but I did have one “strange” accident with gifts one year.My brother was 7 or 8 at the time(I’m 3,5 years older than him)and while looking for blankets at my grandmother’s house he found the gift stash hidden (obviously from Santa ) and was telling me that he will get a microscope for Christmas and I’m getting a paint set(interesting fact:In Latvia children mostly  just get one gift from “Santa”).I was like, okay that’s cool.So we are getting to the Christmas eve, and my brother is going to the tree too read a poem(We get gifts on the Christmas eve and you need to “earn” them by doing something, like singing or telling a poem.) .After he is done my mom is handing him the gift, and who would know?!He got a battle castle and I got the microscope, and my mom got the paint set. His face was priceless, he was so disappointed he got it all wrong, but that evening we played together with all the stuff, so it was all good.

Do you eat turkey for Christmas dinner or something else?

In my family, we where strict(it was a new thing in Latvia at the time, so relative to an average family we were) Vegetarians when I was growing up, so we had just fish(that’s the only “meat’ we did eat). But traditionally in Latvia people eat pork on the Christmas Eve.

Have you ever eaten fruitcake? Do you like it?

I haven’t.

Do you prefer real or fake Christmas trees?

Both really, right now we have a fake one because we celebrate two Christmases, one on the 24.12 and other on 7.01(My mom is Ukrainian, so we try to keep both traditions alive) .So we need our Christmas tree to stay up a long time, and sadly real ones don’t.

What is the strangest gift you’ve ever given someone?

Does underwear with text on the bump “I want a white Christmas” counts?I got it last year for one of my friends.

What is the most you’ve ever spent on a gift?

hmm…I guess 30 euro(I’m still a student, so you can guess my budget isn’t very flexible)

I’m tagging…

Favorite Christmas movies

200w_d (1)Hello, my darlings. Can you imagine we are so close to Christmas? Today I want to talk about movies…Christmas movies to be exact. I love to eat cookies, drink cacao and watch Christmas movies in December before Christmas, and I want to share with you all some of my favorites, So let’s start!

christmas with cranks

Christmas with the Kranks

Finally alone for the holidays, Luther (Tim Allen) and Nora Krank (Jamie Lee Curtis) plan to eschew the Christmas traditions and take a cruise in the Caribbean instead. This doesn’t sit well with their Christmas-obsessed neighbors Vic Frohmeyer (Dan Aykroyd) and Walt Scheel (M. Emmet Walsh), who are determined to win the annual “best-decorated street” competition, and the Kranks soon find themselves social outcasts because of their lack of Christmas spirit.

Why I love it: It’s a very funny, light and nice Christmas comedy. We love to watch it together with all the family.Recommend for a little “slice of life” Christmas comedy!

Home Alone

When bratty 8-year-old Kevin McCallister (Macaulay Culkin) acts out the night before a family trip to Paris, his mother (Catherine O’Hara) makes him sleep in the attic. After the McCallisters mistakenly leave for the airport without Kevin, he awakens to an empty house and assumes his wish to have no family has come true. But his excitement sours when he realizes that two con men (Joe Pesci, Daniel Stern) plan to rob the McCallister residence and that he alone must protect the family home.

Why I love it: Cmon this is a classic. I have so many good childhood memories of this movie, we always watched it on the Christmas day. If you haven’t watch it then I definitely recommend you to see it!!!

the santa clause

The Santa Clause

Divorced dad Scott (Tim Allen) has custody of his son (Eric Lloyd) on Christmas Eve. After he accidentally kills a man in a Santa suit, they are magically transported to the North Pole, where an elf explains that Scott must take Santa’s place before the next Christmas arrives. Scott thinks he’s dreaming, but over the next several months he gains weight and grows an inexplicably white beard. Maybe that night at the North Pole wasn’t a dream after all — and maybe Scott has a lot of work to do.

Why I love it: It’s such a magical and cute movie, definitely for the whole family.I just love the storyline and the actors …Definitely, a great movie to watch before Christmas or on the Christmas day.

Taxi 3

220px-Taxi_3_filmA gang of thieves calling themselves the Santa Claus Gang are wreaking havoc, and the police can’t keep up. Police Captain Gilbert is distracted by a Chinese reporter writing a story on his squad, detective Emilien’s wife has just announced that she’s pregnant, and taxi driver Daniel is in the midst of a relationship crisis. After a string of mistakes in which the thieves outsmart the police time and time again with a reporter there to record it all, Daniel and his super-taxi pitch in.

Why I love it: Sometimes all the “magic”  gets too much for me, and this movie is my go to at the holiday season when I want something more action packed but still festive. A great movie, check it out if you like action/comedy movies.
