So my reading- overall it was a good month. Read 7 books, different genres .Some Arcs (thank you netgalley),some new books published in October. No 2 star reads like in September,so that’s good! Let’s talk about each book individually.

The BOOKS!

Adobe-Post-20201028-1530490-horz

  1. After All I’ve Done by Mina Hardy

I got this as an ARc and I loved it. My favorite book last month,it had eveything- mystery, family drama, posible murder. It’s a trilling story and I highly recommend it! I have a whole review you can read here.

2.Nice Werewolves Don’t Bite Vampires(Half-Moon Hollow #8)by Molly Harper

This was fun, light and super cute. I love Molly Hareper’s writing, and the plot is always interesting. Yes,it does talks about emotional abuse ,so just be aware of it.I didn’t give it higher rating because ..I don’t know,I didn’t feel in love with the romance…Overall would recommend.

3.Misfits(Royal Academy Rebels #1)by Jen Calonita

I don’t know why but I expected it to be YA,but it’s middle grade. It was okay, like a proper fairytale retelling. 3 stars .Cover is BEAUTIFUL!

4.She Died Famous by Kyle Rutkin

Amazing!Beautiful and definitely a must read!!!! My full review you can find here.

5.The Duke Meets His Match by Karen Tuft

I got this as an Arc (you can read the full review here),and well it was okay. It’s marketed as a clean Christian romance, but to be honest there wasn’t a lot of metions of God or Christianity. Just the appropriate amount for the time period.

6.The Earl Not Taken(The Wallflowers of West Lane #1)by A.S. Fenichel

Fun fact..I was denied for an arc of this one ,now I’m kind of glad…because it wasn’t good. I have a whole review you can read here.

7.Crazy Stupid Bromance(Bromance Book Club #3)by Lyssa Kay Adams

I love the Bromance Book club series!Such fun and cozy books to read…but this one wasn’t my favorite. Like don’t get me wrong,it was nice…just not my favorite. If you want full review tell me in the comments down below.

The Duke Meets His Match by Karen Tuft -ARC review

joanna-kosinska-kKfVAvdBsAw-unsplash

54737526. sx318 At thirty years of age, Susan Jennings has long been considered a spinster. Exceptionally intelligent, she has little tolerance for London and the dreaded Season—if that’s how one is expected to find love, it’s not for her. But when an invitation arrives that cannot be ignored, Susan leaves her comfortable life in the country and enters the fashion and frivolity she most despises. She quickly discovers, however, that there is more to loathe in London—and his name is George Kendall.

George, Duke of Aylesham, has learned to keep his distance from cloying females chasing the title of duchess. Susan Jennings, however, proves an entirely different challenge—a woman who has pushed him to the limit of his patience with their every encounter. But their simmering hostility is disrupted by a thoughtless slip-up: to avoid a marriage of political strategy, George claims he is already betrothed. And when pressed for the name of the lucky woman, only one name comes to mind: Susan’s. Their forced betrothal proves advantageous, but when their verbal sparring must change in order to be convincing, the line between fact and fiction becomes blurred by something neither expected: love.

The story– 3/5

Setting of the book– 3/5

Smexy Times?– Non, a clean romance

OVERALL – 3/5 STARS

First of all, I love the cover, it’s simple but at the same time beautiful. The writing was good, I liked how detailed it was, but the passing of the book was all over the place . Really enjoyed the use of real historical figures (like Prince Regent and Lord Alvanley) But…sadly our couple Gorge and Susan didn’t have enough chemistry together for mine liking. Overall it was okay if you like classical literature you will love this one!

I was provided with an eARC of this book by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

After All I’ve Done by Mina Hardy

I was approved for this book on Netgalley, and guys…THIS WAS AMAZING!!! Full review you can read here.

Writing as Mina Hardy, New York Times bestselling author Megan Hart delivers a thrilling new psychological suspense for fans of The Woman in the Window and When the Lights Go Out.
She’s lost her best friend, her husband–and possibly, her mind.

Five months ago, an accident left Diana Sparrow badly injured and missing a few months of her memory. As if that’s not enough, she’s started having recurring nightmares about the night of the accident. Dreams that feel so real, she’s left questioning: maybe she didn’t just slide off the road into a ditch. Maybe, just maybe, she hit something. Or someone.

I requested this book because of the cover and if you know me…I love beautiful covers. This had my mind BLOWN! It’s my first book by the author but I’m already in love. The writing style was phenomenal, the story was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. I loved the dual point of view(the mistress and the wife). If you liked “Before I Go to Sleep” by S.J. Watson then you will love this one.One of the wildest books I have read in a long time.

Genevieve Stewart–a young woman whose family is part of Mrs. Astor’s famed 400 but who has forged a life of her own as a reporter–decides to chase the story, but gets more than she bargained for: a murder victim sprawled in a dark alley in the dangerous Five Points neighborhood.

A handsome neighborhood tough comes to her rescue–but when she encounters the same man at a glamorous ball a few nights later, she realizes he’s society scion Daniel McCaffrey. Could this be her Robin Hood? When two more murders rock the Knickerbocker world, it becomes apparent that something much more sinister is afoot than a few stolen diamond necklaces. Genevieve is determined to prove that Daniel is Robin Hood–but she’s loath to believe he is a killer as well. The Most Eligible Lord in London by Ella Quinn – book review

I talked about this book(and many more ) on my new bookstagram account, so if you want to check it out here is the link – aurorasbookcorner

So because the only thing I can do for like 2 weeks now is to read, here you have another book review! Enjoy!

joanna-kosinska-kKfVAvdBsAw-unsplash

45437704In this captivating new Regency trilogy, bestselling author Ella Quinn picks up where her beloved Worthingtons series left off, as three Lords of London discover true love at last…

Handsome, rakish, incorrigibly flirtatious—Fredrick, Lord Littleton, is notorious. Lady Adeline Wivenly is resolved to keep him at arm’s length during her first Season—until she overhears another woman’s plot to trick him into marriage. Even a rogue is undeserving of such deception, and Adeline feels obliged to warn him—only to find herself perilously attracted…

In the past, Littleton’s charm nearly got him leg-shackled to the wrong woman. Now he’s positive he’s found the right one, for Adeline is everything he wants and needs in a wife. Her sense of justice is so strong she agrees to help him despite her mistrust. But can the ton’s most elusive lord convince the lady he is finally serious about marriage—as long as she will be his bride?

The story– 4,5/5

Setting of the book– 3,5/5

Main Hero– 5/5

Smexy Times?– Yes

Overall – 4/5 stars

4 stars

Littleton and Adeline’s story was beautifully written, yes it’s started a little bit slower than I would like, but it didn’t ruin the story. I liked the family dynamic we got to see (the matrons were the best). This is a sweeter story than I anticipated. Littleton is very kind and charming, very sweet and considerate. Nothing “rake” about him at all. The whole story we get to see from three points of view- Miss Adelaide,Lord Littleton, and Lord Anglesley. It was a really big surprise for me, but it did give the story another interesting layer. So basically we get a love triangle, but regency style.

If you want something sweet, to read before bed and really be transported to the regency era than this is for you!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own

FAVORITE QUOTES FROM THE BOOK

Then a dimple appeared on his left cheek. It was a shame he was ineligible; he really was the most handsome man she had ever seen.

You look like you are making a study of the mating behavior of an unknown civilization

If you ask me, he shoulda paid more mind to what she was saying early on. Took him too long to make out that she weren’t the right lid for his pot.”

We.

She had used the word “we.”

I need to find a gentleman to dangle in front of Miss Hanson. He should have a title.”

Nothing like sacrificing your fellow man,” Turley said with feeling.

“He has no desire to marry. Her tone was sharp and bitter. “But he will make a lady think she is his sun, moon, and stars.”

In other words, a rake.

I wonder if she will have to wait to be asked, or if the fact that she is a duchess enables her to propose to the gentleman,” Miss Hanson said.

Lady Bellamny quickly put an end to that speculation. “The only lady allowed to propose to a gentleman is a queen or a princess.”

The Wild One (Corisi Billionaires #2) by Ruth Cardello – Book review

joanna-kosinska-kKfVAvdBsAw-unsplash

She wants to go wild. A billionaire decides to go with her. For two Americans in Paris, love wasn’t in the plans in New York Times bestselling author Ruth Cardello’s sexy high-stakes romance.

After years of choosing safe over satisfying, a weeklong Paris fling sounds perfect to Wren Heath. And who better to have it with than Mauricio Romano, a billionaire with a reputation as a first-class heartbreaker. A few days. Fun, then done. What happens on vacation stays on vacation, right?

Paris was Mauricio’s playground, and love was never part of the game. Lust? Toujours. Then he meets a sweet woman who wants to be a sex kitten. He knows how to give her the wildest five days and nights of her life. No commitments. No strings. But the hotter it gets, the harder it is to remember his own rules.

What do you do when what happens in Paris stays in your heart and then shows up at home?

Are these two destined to clash or destined for love?

To be fair it started a little bit slow for me, but after the first 3 chapters, it started picking up. The story was interesting, very funny in some places, great writing(will definitely check other books by this author). We get the whole story from a dual point of view(Mauricio and Wren), I usually don’t like that but in this book, it worked amazingly.  This was an instant-love story(more like instant lust to love ), so if you don’t like those better skip this one. The only thing I was confused about was the first and last chapter, we get the main hero from the first book in this series and his “point of view” and I was confused why is it there? Like it didn’t add to the story, and because I haven’t read the first book in this series I was lost…So I advise you to read it before you read this one. Overall a great book would recommend!

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review
